ACT/SAT Testing
Admission procedures at most colleges and universities
require scores from at least one of two nationally standardized
tests - ACT and/or the SAT I and II. Consult college/university
catalogs to determine which test(s) they require. If you are not
certain about the college or colleges to which you will seek admission,
you might want to take both tests. You can request that your test
scores be submitted to the colleges you are considering. NAHS
recommends that a Junior (11th grade) take the ACT twice. The
first time in either February or April, and the second time in
June. This gives two scores to choose from. If a Senior still
wants to take it another time the first opportunity is not until
the end of October, with the results not getting back until December.
Most scholarship applications want an ACT score as well as a student's
GPA.
Web sites for ACT/SAT preparation
There are several sites on the internet that a student
can go to (free) and get samples and help for taking these tests.
